Romario Romain
Owner/ Head Trainer
Romario graduated in 2019 with a B.S in Biology, double concentrating in Biomedical Sciences and Zoology. He has always owned and trained dogs, but became seriously invested in the art of dog training when a challenging Cane Corso came into his family's life. While this usually presents a problem for most, working with this challenging dog presented a hidden talent which then blossomed into a passion. Soon after, he made a huge career change from a laboratory research associate, to full time dog trainer where he also developed a love for working dogs. Since then he has become a certified decoy and plans on trialing his personal dogs . His background in science has made it easy to understand how dogs learn and practically apply the theory to acquire target behaviors.
Romario believes that dogs with the right balance of structure and freedom can live happy, healthy, well fulfilled lives which then allows our furry companions to be a greater part of our lives. During his experience as a trainer Romario has worked with many different breeds, sizes and temperaments of dogs both on a professional and voluntary basis. He has also been a part of different dog sports and enthusiasts clubs. He has also had experience with canine enrichment and fitness. His goal is to empower clients with the knowledge and confidence to be great and successful dog owners.

Riley Robins
Trainer
Riley is a Colorado native with a lifelong passion for dog sports. Since the age of 10, she has been actively involved in the world of canine athletics, competing and training with her own furry companions. Outside of the dog sports arena, Riley also has a keen interest in photography, capturing moments of inspiration through her lens. When she's not busy with her canine activities or behind the camera, Riley can often be found delving into the world of Psychology. With a deep-seated passion for understanding human behavior and mental processes, she constantly seeks to expand her knowledge in this field. With a diverse range of interests and a strong work ethic, Riley brings a unique perspective and a dedicated approach to everything she does. Whether working with dogs, pursuing her hobbies, she is always seeking new ways to learn and grow.

Fred Hall
Trainer
Fred Hall, an advanced trainer at The Dog Wizard, didn't just stumble into dog training?he was pulled in, paws first. His journey began with two German Shepherds, Nacho and Salsa, who weren't even his, but they might as well have been. The moment he met them, something clicked. Their intelligence, energy, and sheer trainability sparked a fascination that refused to fade. What started as casual curiosity quickly became an obsession. As a kid, Fred dreamed of working with animals''maybe wrestling crocs or hanging out with sloths''but when it came down to it, dogs won his heart. And let's just say, he hasn't looked back since. In 2022, he leveled up, joining a training organization that immersed him in balanced training techniques and the science of canine learning. Hungry for more, he dove into the daycare world, studying dog behavior in real-time, fine-tuning his ability to read body language, and mastering the art of communication?both human and canine. Since joining The Dog Wizard in 2024, Fred's growth has skyrocketed. Every day, he's sharpening his skills, learning advanced techniques, and pushing himself to be the best trainer he can be. His passion has only deepened, and he's eager to take things to the next level?exploring the world of decoy work and refining his craft to become a truly elite trainer. The future is wide open, and Fred is ready to chase it down?one well-trained dog at a time.
See What Other Dog Owners are Saying

Ro, Jackie, Fred, and Bri are an incredible team. They genuinely care — not just about the dogs, but about the owners too. They made me feel like part of the family from day one, and I always knew my dog was in great hands.
Ro even went the extra mile to meet me an hour early so I could drop my dog off before work. That level of commitment says a lot about how they run their business.
They’ve encouraged me to push my dog and hold him to a higher standard, and the results speak for themselves. I get compliments all the time on how well-behaved he is, and that’s 100% thanks to their guidance and support.
If you’re considering training, I highly recommend The Dog Wizard Fort Collins. Worth every bit of it.
We have two dogs, Layla and Cosmo. They are very different dogs and are at different stages in their learning.
Layla came to us as a puppy and we went through the traditional foundation building puppy class. She is currently enjoying nose work with Ro.
Cosmo came to us as a youngster but with reactivity issues. We have been able to work on foundations while addressing his behaviors. Thanks to Ro and Fred we have been given excellent instruction and tools to help us prepare and intervene during reactive moments. Cosmo’s behavior has improved immensely and our confidence in managing these situations has grown. The Dog Wizard team has made a huge difference in our lives. My husband and I are certain that without The Dog Wizard trainers we would be living in a stressful home situation.
Their support doesn’t stop once the final class ends. The weekly support class for graduates allows for continued practice of skills and time to ask the trainers questions. The trainer support line is there for when the unexpected happens and you need instructions before the next support class comes around. We have used both these services. The trainers have been timely and give great actionable instructions.
We have also used their daycare and boarding services. Daycare is a structured day which reinforces the dogs training. They go out on walks, go to public spaces (parks and stores), have playtime and you are provided with a report card with the events and how they did during the day. When boarding the pups they participate in daycare and social time then they go home with a trainer. Staying with a trainer has given us peace of mind when we must leave our dogs. They also provide you with pictures and updates.
This truly is a special place. We highly recommend The Dog Wizard and the many programs they have to offer. We will always be grateful to Ro, Fred, Jackie and Riley for their incredible instruction and patience. They have helped us become better guardians to Layla and Cosmo.
Millie is very food motivated, and Riley knew exactly how to channel that into focused, positive training sessions. One thing we especially appreciated was that Millie didn’t just stay overnight in a facility, she actually went home with Riley. That level of care and personal attention made a huge difference and gave us so much peace of mind.
What really set The Dog Wizard apart was the long-term training support. Even months later, and despite us not always being perfect about following every task, Millie still remembers her cues and expectations. The foundation Riley built with her has truly lasted.
We highly recommend The Dog Wizard to anyone looking for more than just a quick fix, this was real, lasting transformation. Thank you, Riley and the Dog Wizard Team!
Since completing the training about a month ago, we’ve taken Benny on numerous camping trips and walks with other dogs, and he’s much less reactive and is having fun! I also feel much more comfortable supporting him rather than just avoiding challenging situations. I highly recommend The Dog Wizard and plan to come back with any future dogs we adopt.
About The Dog Wizard Fort Collins
Our dog training goes beyond basic commands like Sit, Come, and Down. Our approach focuses on helping your dog make better choices and respond to you instead of their impulses.
We cover all the essential obedience commands you need to communicate effectively with your dog. But more importantly, we teach your dog to stay engaged and follow through with these commands, even in the most distracting environments.
Our goal is to enhance your dog’s understanding of obedience, making it a natural part of their behavior, not just a few tricks they perform when they feel like it.
Seeing the vast amount of dogs that are released or put into shelters is disheartening. At The Dog Wizard, we believe that no dog is beyond training - all it takes is a little time and a lot of love. We are here to offer every dog the chance to be a remarkable companion by tapping into their potential and bringing out their very best qualities. We do this with quality dog trainers and programs that have earned us a name across the Front Range.
We don't believe that you or your dog have to become another statistic in failed pet-owner relationships. We don't believe that you have to "live with" or "put up with" an unruly pet. We'll work through your pup's issues in order to give you a well-trained, well-mannered dog that you can trust not to destroy your home, jump on your guests, or ignore your commands. Isn't it time that you explored the endless possibilities at your doorstep with a trained dog? Contact us today and sign up for our Northern Colorado dog training services.
