We worked with Jessie P. who helped our dogs with some overprotective aggression inside the house. That started to escalate tremendously over last year or so. Our dogs are the best of friends outside but have to be separated inside due to fights breaking out. Working with Jess helped calm my nerves so much and the training goes both ways for the owners and the dogs. Their training techniques have helped our dogs tremendously. We can’t say enough good things about working with this service and Jess! All around we are so happy we decided to work with the Dog Wizard 🐕

Jessie, our trainer, was amazing from start to finish! After taking several phone calls to determine the best trainer for our rescue pup, The Dog Wizard was determined to be the best one due to its customer service approach and affordability. One thing to note is that the rate was all due in 2 large chunks within 2 weeks of each other (unless I took out a PayPal credit card for monthly payments, which I didn't want to do). This is a hefty investment, but we felt that it was necessary for our dog, and we are glad we got Jessie to be our assigned trainer! Jessie visited our house for a few weeks for private sessions. Our dog was needing training to stop pulling on the leash. I feel strongly that the training method was a great, non-harmful approach that I really appreciated for our dog. Jessie was able to help us achieve a connection with our rescue dog that I never thought we could--he was stubborn, too smart for his own good, and not food motivated. The last few lessons were done at parks of our choice (where our dog normally is very distracted), which helped us achieve a level we never thought we could! All thanks to Jessie for her caring approach to dog training!

We worked with Jessie at the dog wizard and it was the best investment we could have made! We had never adopted a rescue dog before. Our new girl Nyx was super timid, scared and slightly reactive as a result. From lesson one Jessie gave us advice and tips that started to shape Nyx into a totally different dog. She no longer barks at everything, is calm when people come over and she knows we’re in charge but isn’t afraid. We are experienced dog owners but every dog is different and we would’ve been totally lost without Jessie. I highly recommend working with Jessie and the Dog Wizard team!

Melissa is incredible. Her knowledge, education abilities, patience, grace, and just being a good human I can honestly say I would pay double for the value we got out of puppy class. Our Sonny gets complimented all the time by strangers on how great of a pup he is. Highly highly recommend, cannot say it enough.

Jessie is an exceptional trainer! She worked with my toy poodle, Sister, through private lessons and a recent board-and train program. Sister had a tough start-limited exposure to the outside world during her first 8 months and a strong willed personality. We struggled with impulsive biting and intense reactions to other dogs during walks. After working with Jessie, Sister returned home noticeably more confident and calm, especially on walks. Jessie’s patience, creativity, and genuine care made all the difference. She truly understood my pup and tailored her approach with love and expertise. I couldn’t recommend her more highly!

About The Dog Wizard Nashville

Frequently Asked Questions

The Dog Wizard Nashville offers a free evaluation. Most locations will even come to you to do one! This enables our trainers to meet you and your dog, go over your training goals and find a program that works for you. Give us a call and we will help you set one up.
The Dog Wizard trainers are well versed in a variety of training tools; from food to collars to remote collars. We know that not all dogs do well with every tool and we will help you decide what tool is best for your dog as well as what tools you’re comfortable with using. At the end of the day, whatever tool you’re comfortable in using will be the one you’re most consistent in using and that’s what’s most important to us.
It is never too late to start teaching your dog new habits. It will take more time and effort than teaching a new puppy but you will love the outcome.

In order to know how long it will take to train your dog, we will need to do a free consultation. During your consultation, we will get to understand what you are looking to gain from the training as well as evaluate your dog to see what we will need to do to get him where you would like him to be. At that point, we will be able to give you a timeline for his training.

We do not have a one size fits all approach to training. Each dog owner team that has a free evaluation will have a customized program designed to fit your specific needs. Because of this, individualized system pricing varies. Give us a call and we will help you set one up
