We could only afford the week of training but Allison was excellent in teaching Bodie the basics. We rescued a high energy Border Collie mix and she got us on the right track.

We’re longtime dog owners, but recently adopted a “Pittie Mix” puppy from the Montgomery County Animal Shelter. “Astro” is sweet and wonderful, but also a handful… and he’s been growing fast. So, we started to look for a dog trainer near The Woodlands. We opted for The Dog Wizard’s two week, in-residence program. Our trainer was Allison, and we dropped Astro off at her home for two weeks of intensive “Charm School” (my words). Allison sent us frequent updates, with photos and videos of his progress. Allison’s dogs are very well behaved, which clearly served as a good example for Astro. After the two weeks, Allison brought Astro back to us, and the difference was amazing. He is so much calmer and easier to get under control. He responds to basic commands and is now terrific at walking on a leash. Perhaps as important as training for Astro, Allison trained us on the commands and how to work with him. We plan to continue Astro and our education at the Dog Wizard’s recurring graduate support classes. We had a great experience with Allison, and Astro is happy and well behaved. Worth every penny!

Amazing, locally owned company! I learned the most valuable lessons on how to train my chocolate lab. He was given to us because he had so much energy they couldn’t handle it. He’s the best little boy, but he does have a lot of energy and I wasn’t sure how to handle it myself. So, I contacted Robert with Dog Wizzard and the training was and is essential to happiness in our home. For real! I’ve not only learned regular obedience, but what to do when he doesn’t know how to calm down on his own. This for me is a life saver. The continued support is also amazing! I cannot recommend this company enough.

I recently contracted with Dog Wizard for dog training.
I have a 4 month old female Morkie (Izzy). The training was for 6 lessons one per week. A young lady by the name of Allison was the trainer. Upon arrival she laid out the program and what was required of me each week after she left. I followed her instructions and worked with Izzy each day. Allison’s training was straight forward and easy instructions to follow.
What I have to say about Dog Wizard and Allison is “MONEY WELL SPENT”. Allison in my book is a Top Dog Trainer! My puppy is now six months old and loads of fun. Having a well-trained dog makes dog ownership even more fun.
Allison - Thank you again for a job well done!

Frequently Asked Questions

The Dog Wizard Woodlands offers a free evaluation. Most locations will even come to you to do one! This enables our trainers to meet you and your dog, go over your training goals and find a program that works for you. Give us a call and we will help you set one up.
The Dog Wizard trainers are well versed in a variety of training tools; from food to collars to remote collars. We know that not all dogs do well with every tool and we will help you decide what tool is best for your dog as well as what tools you’re comfortable with using. At the end of the day, whatever tool you’re comfortable in using will be the one you’re most consistent in using and that’s what’s most important to us.
It is never too late to start teaching your dog new habits. It will take more time and effort than teaching a new puppy but you will love the outcome.

In order to know how long it will take to train your dog, we will need to do a free consultation. During your consultation, we will get to understand what you are looking to gain from the training as well as evaluate your dog to see what we will need to do to get him where you would like him to be. At that point, we will be able to give you a timeline for his training.

We do not have a one size fits all approach to training. Each dog owner team that has a free evaluation will have a customized program designed to fit your specific needs. Because of this, individualized system pricing varies. Give us a call and we will help you set one up
